7 FAQ's About Eyelash Extensions
We are now offering eyelash extensions!
I hope you're just as excited as I am for this new service at Get Gorgeous.
Sandy Mai has recently completed her training to perform eyelash extensions. She is offering them at Get Gorgeous Salon for $70 through March, 2017 only!
Before you book, here are some facts and information about eyelash extensions you may not know:
What are they?
Eyelash Extensions are individual strands of synthetic fibers made to replicate a natural eyelash. When applied, eyelash extensions lengthen and thicken your own natural eyelashes. The single strands are applied to each individual eyelash, one by one. With proper application, lash extensions look and feel completely natural.
Do they hurt?
No! Application of eyelash extensions is painless and many people find it relaxing.
How long does it take?
A full application lasts approximately 2 hours. Fill-in appointments last approximately 1 hour.
Will they look fake?
No. You discuss the desired look and style with Sandy Mai to determine the best length of the extensions for a look that suits you and will work with your existing lashes.
How long do they last?
Since eyelash extensions are attached to your existing lashes, they'll fall off naturally with your own lashes. On average, a fill appointment is needed every 2-4 weeks to keep your look consistently full.
Can I wear mascara?
Generally, it's not recommended. As eyelash extensions are meant to have a nice full look without it. If you feel mascara is necessary, chat with Sandy Mai first to be sure you don't accidentally use a variety that can break down the glue. If she recommends a type of mascara that is safe to use, apply only to the very tips of your lashes to avoid it looking thick or clumpy.
How do I care for them?
The glue is waterproof so the lashes will last through normal daily activities (including showering, swimming, etc). Avoid washing the eye area for the first 24-48hrs after application and avoid steam rooms or facials as the steam can break down the bond. Excessive rubbing or pulling of the lashes can shorten the lifespan of the extensions and could also damage your own lashes.
