Happy Memorial Day
Regardless how you feel about the current political climate, it's good to remember the lives sacrificed for our country, our freedom, and the families who have lost loved ones in war on this Memorial Day. I'm hoping as I write this that the weather will cooperate for a nice day for the folks who get the day off for the holiday. But...it is Minnesota after all! Hopefully some folks will get to enjoy the outdoors and the beautiful blooms that finally popped all over the cities.
As we zoom past the last week of May, we can finally consider summer on the horizon! Prom girls have come and gone through the salon which is always a blast! June will be here very soon, and graduation parties and weddings and family vacations are just around the corner. Summer always goes too fast in Minnesota- are there any recommended events or places to visit around the Twin Cities that you would recommend to us?
Salon Updates
Sandy Mai is no longer at Get Gorgeous Salon. She found she was spreading her time too thin between skin care clients and her wedding on-location makeup clients. We wish her all the best with her future adventures!
Some of you over the last few weeks may have noticed a new voice leaving confirmation call voicemails. We have been looking for a new receptionist as Jess (me!) is refocusing on her photography business and will only be at the salon one day a week to help with the behind the scenes and paperwork (*shameless self promotion time* check out my bridal boudoir business at Something Blue Boudoir. I am also a studio lead photographer shooting weddings with Bellagala if you're looking for a wedding photographer!). Kylee joined our team briefly but has accepted another job offer (best of luck with the new position!) and we will have former receptionist, Maia, come back to the salon for the summer instead.
Ebony is out of town until June 4th, having a blast in Miami! If you are looking to book any sort of braid related service, please give us a call and we'd love to schedule you with her after she is back in town.
This Month's Recap
And speaking of places to visits, and time out of town, Ilka had an AMAZING time in Ireland! She traveled there over the end of April and the beginning of May to do hair and makeup for a client's wedding in a castle! Talk about a fairy-tale romance. We'll all just have to live vicariously through Ilka's photos of her time abroad while we wait for this weather to warm up again here at home.
