On Fri April 19th, Ilka and I attended the Neighborhood Development Center's 2019 Entrepreneur Awards ceremony. The weather ended up being gorgeous, and the entire event was a blast from beginning to end. Nicollet Island Pavilion was packed with fellow business owners and their families and friends to support them. We enjoyed tasty appetizers, drinks, and even got our caricatures drawn before the main event of the evening!
Ilka was one of 14 finalists for the entrepreneur awards. She was among some absolute powerhouses of local businesses, including Best Steak House, Element Gym, and Can Can Wonderland (to name a few!). A common story among all of these businesses, including Get Gorgeous, is the absolute passion these small business owners have for their business and the community that accepted them and continue to support them.
Every award was very well deserved- I would have had a tough time choosing! I had a great time seeing all the diversity of the business owners, as well as the staff of NDC. They truly do support and want to grow the local community through the businesses they support. The whole vibe of the night was one of support and encouragement. I'm really happy I got to be Ilka's date!
Congratulations again, Ilka, on being recognized on your hard work. Here's to many more years of growth and success in St. Paul!
